Interior design for a multi-generational home spread across three storeys.

The ground floor consists of the main living areas - living, dining, kitchen, and a bedroom with an en-suite bathroom for the first generation of the family.

The kitchen, an elongated galley with an island in the centre, is dressed in a neutral colour palette and features abundant countertop space. Owing to the nature of its layout, oscillating fans were carefully positioned to provide thermal comfort and dissipate cooking odours towards the back door at the far end of the galley.

The second and third generations occupy the second storey, with bedrooms on both ends of the plan and a family room in the centre to tie them together.

The attic features an entertainment hall and study room, separated by a set of synchronised sliding doors frosted at eye level for privacy.

Aesthetically, it was a case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, with the wife favouring Soft Minimalism and the husband leaning towards a modern industrial style.

To that end, the material palette for the second storey consisted of elm-toned laminate, splashes of cement-textured paint with a light pink hue (not limewash paint) and countertops made of natural bianco carrara.

The attic took on the character of an art gallery, pared back with a screed floor treated with dry-shake floor hardener (not micro-cement) and a mixture of white-washed walls and exposed plaster walls (not cement-textured paint).
